8 months!
Woo Hoo! Today is my 8 month anniversary of moving to the UK. Wow. How fast it's gone.
This special occasion has been marked by the realization that I love cream. There just is nothing like it in the states and I'm starting to see that well, *sigh, it hurts to say this* it's better than Cool Whip. Blasphemy, I know. I'm sorry.
As well as the fact that today I unconciously replaced "trash can" with the British word "bin" and "floor" with "ground". Lord, soon I'll find myself talking in a strangely Dick Van Dyke-esque Cockney accent and referring to everyone I meet as "mate".
*sob* I don't want to be assimilated! But, they can never take away my "zee"! ZEE,ZEE,ZEE HAHAHA!!!
Sorry. Really, though. I love living here. It is a beautiful country, and I've been so welcomed by the people here. I feel at home. It's been an at times rocky 8 months, but I havent regretted it once, and every day it gets better. It makes me so happy to wake up each morning and walk outside and see the woods right across the street, the trees swaying in the breeze, to hear the birds calling, and to feel this incredible chill that just goes through your whole body and makes you feel so invigorated. It's amazing. I love seeing the kids laugh as they run across the big fields, or come up close and personal with sheep, or cows or just spot a squirrel running across the street.
I really love this country and I couldnt be luckier to live in this beautiful place, with an amazing husband, and my two happy well adjusted kids. I couldnt be happier to have made it this far and I'm looking forward to what the next 8 months hold and I'm thrilled to be bringing a child into this beautiful world. Hooray for 8 months!
